This Musical Instrument Resource Book contains a complete set of all the Musical Instruments fundamental studies for young learners. This book contains a Table of Contents page for fast and easy search, is ready to print, & ink-friendly! All activities include the following instruments: Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Contrabass, Guitar, Ukulele Brass: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba, Sousaphone Woodwinds: Clarinet, Flute, Oboe, Saxophone, Bassoon Percussion: Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Timpani, Cymbals, Piano

Instrument Anatomy: Two charts are provided for each individual instrument covered in the String, Brass, Woodwind, and Percussion family. The first chart specifies all the different parts of that instrument, and the second chart is blank, with each part listed in a box above. Students are to label each different part of the instrument in the blank spaces.

Instrument Social Media Profiles: Each instrument in the String, Brass, Woodwind, and Percussion family, they are given a social media profile. In the social media profile, students must name their family members, what family they’re in, an artist that plays them, and a song/piece they are featured in.

Instrument Listening Logs: Each separate instrument in all the different families are listed at the bottom of a listening log, and the song which is chosen should feature that instrument. The students must list the name of the song, the artist, the dynamics of the song, how the song made them feel, and what animal the sound of that instrument reminds them of. Students are also prompted to draw that animal as they listen to the piece.

Instrument Search: Students have a chart of many instruments in small boxes. Out of all the String, Brass, Woodwind, or Percussion instruments, students must spot the one that is listed at the top of the page. Once students have spotted them all they’ve completed the instrument search.

Spelling Bee: For music in ELA, these worksheets list all the instruments by family, and some also mix the different instruments. Each box shows a picture of an instrument, and students must correctly spell that instrument.

Name Matching: There are two sides of boxes on this page. The right side of boxes contains images of either string, brass, woodwind, percussion instruments, or mixed families. The other side has the name of those instruments. Students must draw lines connecting instruments to their correct names on the opposite side.

I can write in 60 seconds: As a continuation of the ELA approach, students must write the name of different instruments of the string, brass, woodwind, or percussion family as many times as they can in 60 seconds. Students become very motivated in this activity! They always continuously try to beat their previous score, and is a great activity to engage your students in before the spelling be worksheets.

Cut & Paste Activities: Students are given instrument cut out pieces that they must paste on the other side of the page under the correct instrument names. All instruments are covered for the string, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments, along with mixed families as well.

Which Family?: Instruments are displayed, and students must check the box underneath whether it is in the string, brass, woodwind, or percussion family. All instruments are covered by family, and worksheets are also provided they are also mixed.

Instrument Math: Students will engage in surveys, that tally the amount of players of each instrument from different families. Data is also provided for your students to analyze, and engage in activities that involve pie charts, tally charts, bar graphs, and line graphs.

Color by Family: Students are shown images of several instruments, and for each family there is a designated color they must color those instruments. All instruments for string, brass, woodwind, and percussion are provided, along with worksheets with mixed families as well.

Coloring the Family: Students are given an anchor of all instruments in the string, brass, woodwind, and percussion family. Students must name those instruments, and color them using any colors they wish.

Color by Note: Students must figure out the note on the treble clef at the bottom of the page, and then color the image of the animal playing instruments at the top of the page. Throughout the coloring page, the notes such as “A, B, C, D, E, F, or G” are on the coloring page, and students must color accordingly.
